Procedure for Scion TC Fog Light Installation

Unplug the negative battery cable from the negative terminal. Release the nut on the cable clamp and slide the clamp off the terminal.

Generally, this is not needed when replacing fog lights, but since you will be modifying the factory ballast to high power output ballast, it is suggested that you unplug the battery to keep away from an accidental electrical shock.

Open the hood of the vehicle and disconnect the factory electrical plug running to the fog light assembly.

The fog lights sit below the headlights. Turn the fog light counterclockwise and pull it out of the housing assembly.

Plug the factory electrical connector for the fog lights into the HID ballast input that will accept the factory plug.

Insert the xenon bulb into the vehicle’s fog light housing. Align the tabs on the bulb with the notches on the housing.

Turn the bulb clockwise to lock it into the housing. Plug the HID ballast connector to the back of the xenon bulb.

Reconnect the battery, and turn on the headlights to verify that the system is working properly.

This successfully completes the Scion TC fog light installation procedure.

You can encounter the p0012 problem while your control actuator assembly is not in working condition. While you encounter the issues related to electrical harness, the code p0012 is displayed.

Things To Try

If the problem persists, look for a damaged plug, damaged injector and bad coil. In order to fix the problem, swap the plug and coil with the other cylinder, you can find the clear codes and if it sets again, you can suspect the injector in the vehicle. You have to remove and replace the new camshaft timing gear. Make sure that the cam shift timing is done at the time of locking the timing gear.
